In the past few months, we have seen new and creative ways that people are using AI to assist in the job search process, offering benefits for both employers and job seekers. Job seekers are leveraging natural language tools, such as ChatGPT, to create personalized résumés, LinkedIn posts, and cover letters to save time in the application process. They are also using AI image tools to generate professional-looking LinkedIn profile photos in formal attire.
Employers are also leveraging these tools to improve the résumé review process and talent search. LinkedIn has already begun providing these AI tools to employers.
There are both pros and cons to using AI in the job search process. On one hand, AI can make the job process more efficient and effective, helping employers find qualified candidates and helping job seekers find more opportunities. On the other hand, there are some ethical concerns, such as biased AI and possible discrimination by AI.
Is it fair to use AI for hiring decisions, or should those decisions always be made by people?
